
VINEYARD
The entire production process is carried out with the philosophy of respecting and preserving nature, to obtain superior quality raw materials. The vines are permanently monitored, allowing the grapes to express their naturally controlled vigor and their own potential, later transforming into authentic wines.
The harvest is done by hand and the grapes go through a careful double selection process: the first selection is made on the vine and the second selection at the entrance to the cellar.
Portocarro is guided by sustainable agriculture and all wines produced on the property already have organic certification. We are officially all organic from harvest 2023 onwards.
Production is limited in order to highlight the complexity of aromas, color and flavors – an essential condition for the production of high quality wines.

VINEYARDS
All of our vineyard plots are oriented in a North-South direction, located on light clay-limestone soils, well drained and with a slight slope.
The vineyards are on slopes in the middle of a forest of cork trees and stone pines trees.
Herdade do Portocarro enjoys a constant sea breeze and very cool nights in summer, preserving the delicate aromas of the grapes.
